Class 11 - Mayan Art Day

Year 5 - Mayan Art Day

We have enjoyed an Art themed day in Year 5 to link with our topic in History on the Ancient Maya. After finding out about pyramids and other aspects of Mayan architecture, we set about making our own pyramids out of clay. Using a basic coil pot method, we constructed the pyramid structure and then added extra details to show what we have learned about the Mayan culture (serpents, steps and pok-a-tok hoops to name a few!)

The children have thoroughly enjoyed the day and they should be very proud of their finished products.
